On 03/19/2006, I received an phone call from an excited national hummingbird expert. She had just banded an adult male Anna's hummingbird in River Ridge, Louisiana. Her opinion was that is was ready to migrate out and may not remain more than a day or so. She knew it was one of the Louisiana species I had never photographed. Despite still repairing from Hurricane Katrina damage, the homeowners were extremely kind and gracious in sharing their yard with me. Thanks to everyone who made this experience possible. Below are the results of my first and only encounter with this beautiful bird.
